FAQ
What's the difference between coaching and marriage counseling or therapy?
Coaching with Kingdom Order Life is forward-focused and rooted in Scripture — we help you build a plan for where your marriage is headed, while helping you and your spouse process what went wrong. We're not licensed therapists, and coaching isn't a replacement for clinical treatment if you're dealing with [abuse, addiction, mental health crisis, etc.)
Do both spouses need to participate, or can I start on my own?
The best results come when you are both interested in building your marriage to be all that is available. Scripture has multiple examples, though, of one’s faith building another’s to a place for Jesus to move within them. 1 Corinthians 7:14, for example, “For the unbelieving husband is made holy because of his wife, and the unbelieving wife is made holy because of her husband.” Because we operate on the basis of scripture, we believe it to be true, and highly encourage you to begin even if your spouse isn’t quite there yet.
How much does coaching cost?
Pricing depends on the coaching package you choose. We have options and flexibility to build the program that best fits your needs. We do carry a 3 month minimum contract because we need that time to get to know you, your situation, and to establish new, healthy, and biblical foundations. – The question to consider, though, is can your marriage afford for you not to invest in it?
How long does the coaching process typically take?
As mentioned above, we have a 3 month minimum. From there we offer 6 month and 12 month contract durations. We have clients operating in all of these. Typically what we find is clients will start with the 3 month option and then will extend for as long as they need.
Is coaching done in person or virtually?
Our coaching is done primarily over the Zoom platform. Exceptions are available, but these are rare.
What happens on the discovery call? Is it a sales pitch?
The 30-minute discovery call is a real conversation, not a pitch — we tell you more about our testimony, talk about what's going on in your marriage, what you're hoping to gain from coaching, and we'll be honest if we believe we're a good fit. We want you to be comfortable with who we are so you can make a confident decision on what’s best for you. There's no obligation or pressure to continue afterward.
Are you licensed marriage counselors?
We are Christian marriage coaches, not licensed counselors or therapists. Just as people hire coaches to strengthen their leadership, fitness, finances, or golf game, we believe your marriage deserves intentional coaching too. Our approach is practical, biblical, and action-oriented—helping couples identify what’s out of order, build a clear plan, and develop the habits, accountability, and skills needed to create lasting change. Counseling can be an invaluable resource when it’s needed; coaching is for couples ready to stop hoping things get better and start intentionally building a stronger marriage.
We're not very religious, or we're new to faith — is this still for us?
If this is the case then we would love to talk with you and help you understand that a life with Christ is not about religion, but about a relationship with a heavenly Father who loves you. To answer your question, for you to experience the healing and abundance that is available to you through our coaching you need to be willing to submit to God’s design in marriage. If you are up for that, then let’s talk.
What if we're already in crisis — considering separation or divorce? Is it too late?
We’ve seen God work in marriages where divorce papers were filed, we’ve even seen God work in marriages where divorces were finalized. Earthly papers mean nothing to our God. “Let no man separate what God has joined together” (Matthew 19:6). If you are both willing to invest in your marriage whether it’s brand new, lukewarm, or feels like it’s over, it’s never too late for God to heal. It’ll take work, patience, forgiveness, and yes, finances – but so will ending your marriage. You just need to decide which is the better investment.
Is what we share confidential?
Yes. We take your privacy seriously, and what you share with us during coaching is treated as confidential. We will not share your personal information, story, or circumstances without your permission, except when disclosure is required by law or we reasonably believe there is an immediate risk of serious harm to you or another person, or abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable person is disclosed. Any testimonial, story, or experience we share publicly will only be done with your express permission.
We've tried counseling or coaching before and it didn't help — why would this be different?
Every coach and counselor brings a different lens, and a lot of programs focus on communication techniques without addressing the deeper spiritual and relational order underneath them. We coach from our own lived experience of rebuilding a marriage, not a textbook — and our approach is built around realigning roles and identity first, not just fixing surface-level habits. We bring a level of accountability that quite frankly most programs do not offer. It’s always your decision to put into practice what we offer, but we won’t let you drift along. We’ll challenge you, but always from a place of love and respect for you and your goals.
What happens after the discovery call if we decide to move forward?
That’s when the fun starts! We’ll draw up your contract where you will determine the package, frequency, and duration you want to start with. Once you return it signed, we’ll get you scheduled where we try to find a consistent time and day to meet. We’ll send you some resources and assessments to complete that will give us a better picture of where to start and how you operate as a couple.
